Why he might be annoying:

    He bilked $236 million out of six banks during a ten year period.
    He claimed he made his initial fortune by owning a rare coin collection, when in reality his coin collection was acquired by smuggling them out of foreign countries.
    He claimed to have graduated from Oxford University, which was later proven to be false.
    His free spending ownership style placed the Kings in near financial ruin, which eventually led to the team filing for bankruptcy following his incarceration.
    Despite splurging large amounts of money to build a Stanley Cup contender, his teams weren't consistent in the playoffs.
    He was stripped of his position of Chairman of the NHL's Board of Governors when word of his fraud charges became public.
    He was viewed as being a suck up to celebrities during his ownership of the Kings.
    He got Gretzky in his office on a conference call with Peter Pocklington and without mentioning Gretzky was listening in, allowed Pocklington to badmouth him over the phone.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He held a minority share in the Kings, before buying the majority shares in the team from Jerry Buss.
    Months after purchasing the team, he helped broker 'The Trade', which sent Wayne Gretzky to the Kings.
    He was responsible for turning the Kings into a major player in the Los Angeles sports scene, following his acquisition of Gretzky.
    He, along with Gretzky and John Candy, purchased the Toronto Argonauts, and were successful in luring Raghib Ismail to the team en route to the Grey Cup (1991).
    Under his ownership, he watched the Kings make the franchise's first Stanley Cup Finals appearance (1993).
    He remained on good terms with many of his former players and celebrities following his arrest for fraud.
    Gretzky went as far as postponing his jersey retirement ceremony with the Kings in order for him to attend.
    He and Gretzky once owned a copy of the T206 Honus Wagner baseball card during the 1990's.
