Why she might be annoying:

    She denounced abortion, contraception, and nursery schools for undermining maternal instincts.
    She went from being a Communist to being a fascist.
    She denounced anti-Nazi organizations in Australia as recipients of 'Moscow gold.'
    Shortly after World War II started in Europe, she and her husband went on a goodwill tour of Japan (December, 1939-January, 1940) and returned with assurances of Japan's peaceful intentions.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She had to wear splints on her legs and did not learn to walk until she was three.
    An undercover police officer monitoring one of her anti-conscription rallies during World War I noted, 'I have seldom heard a speaker who held such sway over her audience.'
    She was jailed without trial for eight months for advocating peace with Japan during World War II (1942).
