Hockey Coach

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He dropped out of school in the eighth grade.
The Canadiens fired him 5 games into the 1995-96 season, replacing him with the inexperienced Mario Tremblay.
He hid the fact he was illiterate for over 60 years.
Despite his titles of general manager and coach, he often relied on others to do his work for him.
Despite guiding the Canadiens to a Stanley Cup title in his first season as head coach, most of his tenure in Montreal was plagued with inconsistency.
His tenure in Tampa Bay was viewed as being disastrous as his teams won a total of 34 games over 2 seasons.

Why he might not be annoying:

In his autobiography, he admitted to being abused as a child.
During his stint in the WHA, he was able to pair Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe as linemates at the 1979 WHA All-Star Game.
He is the first coach in NHL history to win the Jack Adams Award in consecutive seasons.
He guided the Canadiens to a Cinderella playoff run en route to the franchise's 24th Stanley Cup title (1993).
He was Vincent Lecavalier's first coach at the NHL level.
After revealing he was functionally illiterate, he became an advocate for adult literacy.
