    Its temperatures have ranged from a low of -49F to a high of 107F.
    It experiences occasional freak summer snowstorms, such as the one that produced 8.3 inches of snow over two days in August, 1992.
    It WHL team, the Great Falls Americans, folded in the middle of its only season (1979-80), with a record of 2 wins, 25 losses, one tie.
    Its economy stagnated in the 1970s due to the loss of heavy industries (most notably, the closing of several metal smelters) and cutbacks at nearby Malmstrom Air Force Base.
    It had been the largest city in Montana, but was surpassed by Billings (1970) and Missoula (2000).
