Why she might be annoying:

    While first running for Delegate, she admitted she had not filed tax returns for the previous seven years.
    She immediately blamed her husband for the mistake.
    She supports greater rights for the District but played a key role in imposing a federal control borard that stripped DC Mayor Marion Barry of authority for city budgets.
    After the Supreme Court overturned DC's handgun ban, she blamed the lawsuit on 'gun radicals.'

Why she might not be annoying:

    While in law school, she helped organize the march on Washington (1963) and participated in the Mississippi Freedom Summer (1964).
    As assistant legal director of the ACLU, she went to court to support segregationist George Wallace's right to hold a political rally at Shea Stadium (1968).
    She issued the EEOC's first regulations concerning sexual harassment.
    She supported Bill Cosby's campaign against irresponsibility and foul language.
