The Resume

    (March 21, 1969- )
Born in Manhattan, New York City, New York
    Middle name is Jacob
    Editor at National Review (1998-2019)
Weekly columnist for the Los Angeles Times
Author of 'Liberal Fascism' (2008), 'The Tyranny of Cliches: How Liberals Cheat in the War of Ideas' (2012) and 'Suicide of the West' (2018)
Political pundit for CNN, MSNBC and Fox News
    Son of Lucianne Goldberg

Why he might be annoying:

    He is an ideological hypocrite.
He spent years penning articles vehemently opposing gay marriage (or just spewing anti-LGBT sentiment).
He is pro-interventionist, suggesting that 'Every ten years or so, the United States needs to pick up some small crappy little country and throw it against the wall, just to show the world we mean business.'
He is an apologist for European colonialism, and has argued that the U.S. colonizing the African continent could 'solve its persistent problems.'
He was a cheerleader for the Iraq War and refused to recant even after acknowledging it was 'a noble mistake.'
He feuded with Janeane Garofalo and Juan Cole over his support of the Iraq War.
He offered Cole a wager of $1,000 that 'Iraq won't have a civil war' (February 8, 2005).
Cole refused to accept and the wager was never made. Goldberg later conceded that if Cole had accepted, he would have won.
He falsely claimed to be a 'two-time Pulitzer prize nominee' on the jacket of his second book and was made to remove it after getting called out.

Why he might not be annoying:

He taught English in Prague for less than a year before moving to Washington D.C.
His columns regularly reference Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica, of which he is a fan.
His books 'Liberal Fascism' and 'Suicide of the West' both were No. 1 New York Times bestsellers.
He has been a noted critic of President Donald Trump, fellow Republicans, and the conservative media complex.
He got into a back-and-forth with Trump after he likened the then-candidate to 'a 14-year-old girl.'
He announced that he was severing his ties to Fox News in protest of its support for Tucker Carlson's Patriot Purge docuseries on the January 6th Capitol riot (November 21, 2021).
He justified his decision by describing Carlson's series as 'revisionist history' and 'a collection of incoherent conspiracy-mongering, riddled with factual inaccuracies, half-truths, deceptive imagery, and damning omissions.'
