Why they might be annoying:

Despite having a string of hits in the 1980's, they never won any awards.
When their commercial appeal waned in the mid 1990's, they attempted to make a comeback in the Contemporary Christian genre.
Their harmonies sounded extremely similar, which made it hard to tell who was singing.
During their heyday, they were viewed as being too wholesome by music pundits.
Their song 'Men' is remembered for being used on The Rush Limbaugh Show's 'Feminist Update' segment.

Why they might not be annoying:

They come from backgrounds in education and interior design, which they were able to fall back on after their run of success in the 1980's ended.
They were discovered at a performance arts festival in their hometown of Lookout Mountain, Georgia in the early 1980's.
They recorded twelve consecutive Top Ten hits during the 1980's.
Despite not performing for mainstream audiences since the early 1990's, they still perform the odd concert at community events.
They voluntarily gave up their career to focus on raising their families.
