    Center fielder for the Cleveland Indians (1962-64), Chicago White Sox (1965-67), New York Mets (1968-72), Houston Astros (1973) and the St. Louis Cardinals (1973)
    Two-time All-Star (1966-67)
    AL Rookie of the Year (1966)
    Won one AL Golden Glove (1966) and one NL Golden Glove (1970) as an outfielder
    World Series champion (1969)
    Inducted into the New York Mets Hall of Fame (2002)

Why he might be annoying:

    He struggled in the early stages of his playing career in Cleveland.
    He had limited playing time in his first spring training as a White Sox player because of a hand injury.
    His productivity with the White Sox rapidly fell following the 1967 All-Star break.
    He was leader for errors committed as an outfielder in both the AL (1967) and the NL (1970).
    He had knee problems in his last years with the Mets.
    Despite having a secured deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, he never played a game for them.
    He was one hit shy of having 1,000 career hits.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was able to record a two-run home run on Opening Day of the 1966 season after he overcame the hand injury.
    He posted 22 home runs and 28 stolen bases in the same season to become the first player in White Sox history to have more than 20 home runs and more than 20 stolen bases in one season.
    He hit a home run which the ball landed on Shea Stadium's left field upper deck (April 10, 1969).
    He recorded a walk-off home run and performed two great defensive catches which helped the Mets shut out the Orioles in Game 3 of the 1969 World Series, 5-0.
    He hit for the cycle (July 6, 1970).
    He had the distinction of being the first African American player in major league history to be awarded a Golden Glove in the AL and the NL.
    He donated his time to charitable events and children's baseball clinics.
