The Resume

    (1995- )
    Born in San Francisco, California
    Online classified ads
Provides listings for almost 450 cities and 50 countries worldwide as of September 2007

Why Craigslist.org might be annoying:

You can order a Craigslist t-shirt off their site.
Prostitutes try to get around the anti-solicitation rules by using the word 'roses' instead of 'dollars' for their sexual services (ie: 300 roses = 300 dollars).
In 2006, the site was faced with a lawsuit claiming it posted discriminatory housing ads.
The site has seen other wild and wooly activities such as one Vancouver couple trying to sell their baby, a Michigan woman trying to hire a contract killer to snuff off another woman and a Minneapolis woman using Craigslist to operate a prostitution ring.
The site and eBay became involved in a lawsuit suing each other in a dispute involving eBay's portion of shareholdership of Craigslist. (2008)

Why Craigslist.org might not be annoying:

People can post ads on the site for free.
Craigslist is accessible to anyone looking to buy a car, get a job or find an apartment.
Its sole source of revenue comes from job ads in select North American cities: San Francisco, New York City, Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Seattle, Washington, D.C., Chicago and Portland (plus broker apartment listings in New York).
It's 'Best of Craigslist' section provides archived ads that are often funny or informative, many are outlandish.
Site visitors can find great deals on second hand goods.
If you don't want a Craigslist T-shirt, you can always get a Craigslist baseball cap or coffee mug.
Its namesake foundation helps startup non-profit organizations develop and gain community visibility.
Its creator appeared on the NBC game show 'Identity' as 'Craig of Craigslist.'
