Why he might be annoying:

He looks like Stan Laurel (according to Simon Cowell).
He has been compared to Howdie Doody and Richie Cunningham.
He appealed to both senior citizens and geeks.
He refuses to take risks, sticking to his crooning style.
He seems to go to an all-white school.
He was born in the wrong era. He sings like he is stuck in the 30's.
He is not into female vocalists.
When singing, his dance moves are quite stiff.
He prefers music where he can snap his fingers along.
His enjoyment is attending Philharmonic concerts.
His rendition of Barry Manilow's 'Mandy' was painful.
It a bit of bitter irony, he was kicked off 'American Idol' the week prior to Big Band performances, his genre of style.

Why he might not be annoying:

When Jennifer Hudson was voted off instead of him, he received death threats. His parents recommended he quit the show but he decided to stay.
American Idol judge Simon, said he was extremely impress with his poise and although only sixteen, he was able to take every bad criticism and rise above it.
He began singing in elementary school.
He is very close to his grandparents and credits them for his singing style.
Being a crooner, he naturally idolizes Frank Sinatra.
When asked who was his least favorite judge, he did not avoid the question but answered honestly. He felt that Randy Jackson's over use of the word 'dog' was too much.
