Why he might be annoying:

He is a vegetarian
He goes by his middle name, rather then his birth name of Julian.
He wore the same style of shades as Bono on stage.
He was the only member of the band that never sang.
He wasn't fond of being on the road, which factored into his decision to leave the touring aspect of the group.

Why he might not be annoying:

He came out as gay (1992).
He was high school classmates with Kim Basinger.
He was primarily the band's composer, while Ricky wrote the lyrics. He took on both titles following the latter's death.
He is a versatile musician, as he played the drums, guitars and keyboards and switched from playing the drums to the guitar in honor of his late friend and bandmate Ricky Wilson.
He remained on good terms with his B-52's bandmates following his departure from touring, that they still consider him an official member of the group.
