The Resume

    (March 12, 1979- )
    Vocalist/guitarist of the Libertines (2001-2004)
    Vocalist/guitarist of Babyshambles (2005- )
    Dating Kate Moss

Why he might be annoying:

He is a drug addict, and is better known for it than for his music.
    His appearance is that of a stereotypical drug addict: thin, pale skin, dark circled eyes, unkempt hair, etc;
He looks like Winona Ryder as she appeared in 'Beetlejuice.'
    He dropped out of Oxford.
His drug addictions and erratic behavior caused much turmoil within the Libertines, leading to his being kicked out, and eventually their breakup.
He reportedly formed his band Babyshambles for the sole purpose of supporting his drug habit.
He has an on-and-off relationship with Kate Moss. After she dumped him in early August, he set his bed on fire to show how much he loves her.
He was stopped at Oslo Gardermoen Airport on August 13, 2005, where he was found to be in possession of heroin. He spent three hours in custody and arrived late at an Oslo music festival where he was scheduled to play.
He slashed his chest with a beer bottle during the filming of a documentary.
He has been in and out of rehab with no success.
He has failed to show up for many concerts, causing crowd riots and taking away opening slots.
He is bisexual and reportedly had a sexual relationship with bandmate Carl Barat.
    He was a prostitute.

Why he might not be annoying:

    The Libertines were critically acclaimed.
His Libertines bandmates threw him out with the hope that he could get clean of his drug addiction.
Kate Moss took him back after the bed fire incident, believing she can help him with his problems.
He entered a poetry contest at age 16, and won a tour of Russia.
He likes to read and has listed George Orwell, Oscar Wilde and Emily Dickinson as favorites.
Razorlight wrote 'Don't Go Back to Dalston' in tribute to him and his drug habit.
Carl Barat once said that when he cleans up, he's welcome to come back to the Libertines.
His manner of performing has been influential on a new wave of British punk bands.
