    (February 16, 1594-June 26, 1653)
    Born in Barcelona, Spain
Catholic nun and the first woman in history to earn a law degree
A converso, that is descended from Spanish Jews who had converted to Catholicism
Wrote poetry in Latin and French

Why she might be annoying:

    She was a lawyer.
unless you were a serious geek, she probably wasn't much fun to hang out with.
She started her studies in Latin, Greek and Hebrew at age four and was studying; Rhetoric, Ethics, Mathematics, Astronomy, Physics, Music, and the Law nine hours a day by the time she was nine.

Why she might not be annoying:

Being the first woman to ever earn a law degree (and the first woman to earn any type of university degree in Europe) is a big deal no matter how much you hate lawyers.
She received her law degree summa cum laude at age 14!
She left behind the possibility of great wealth and marriage to become a nun.
'Much beloved' by her fellow nuns, she was elected prioress of her convent three times.
She translated works by Vincent Ferrer and Saint Augustine.
At age seven, she had to flee her native Barcelona when her father was accused of murder.
She died in great pain after two years of illness.
She lost her mother when she was two or three years old.
There is no evidence she ever actually practiced the law.
