The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He spent the majority of his career on mediocre teams.
He was cut by both the Cleveland Browns and the Toronto Argonauts, before landing with the Philadelphia Stars.
Some football pundits felt he didn't receive the recognition he should have as a result of playing in small markets.

Why he might not be annoying:

He made the most of his opportunity in the USFL, which parlayed into an NFL opportunity.
He was considered one of the anchors of the Saints 'Dome Patrol' defensive unit.
He was a member of the inaugural Panthers team (1995).
He was considered a valued leader, both as a player and a coach.
His #51 was the first number retired in the history of the Panthers franchise.
He was the inspiration for the Panthers 'Keep Pounding' motto, which served as a rallying cry following his death.
