    He didn't make his NHL debut until the strike shortened 2012-13 season, as a result of contractual obligations in Russia.
    His father initially objected to his dream of playing in the NHL.
    He missed a good portion of his draft year, due to a shoulder injury.
    He openly said in regards to being selected at the 2015 NHL All-Star Game Fantasy Draft that he didn’t want to be picked last at the draft, but wanted the car, which was given as consolation prize.
    He said his hobby away from the rink is to rest.

    He captained the Russian National team to a gold medal at the World.Juniors (2011).
    He was the first Blues player in 17 years to serve as the cover athlete for the EA Sports NHL series.
