Why he might be annoying:

    His claim to fame was being part of the infamous 1997 ‘White Flag Trade’ between the Chicago White Sox and the San Francisco Giants.
    He surrendered David Ortiz’s game-winning double in Game 4 of the 2003 ALDS, which set the stage for the Red Sox series comeback victory the following game.
    He went off on a tirade at the Red Sox fans, who booed him for his performance a year after being the hero in the team’s first World Series victory in 86 years.
    His selfishness further was exposed after it was revealed he asked for a new truck as compensation for his weekly interviews on a Boston-area radio station.
    He struggled with injuries towards the end of his career.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was born on the Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota, while his father was stationed there as a member of the U.S. Air Forces.
    He was among the three of the six prospects who went to the White Sox in the trade that actually panned out.
    He established himself as a reliable setup man for Bobby Howry during his tenure with the White Sox.
    He led the American League in saves (2003).
    He recorded the final out in the 2004 World Series, which secured the Red Sox victory and reversed ‘The Curse of the Bambino.’
