Why she might be annoying:

She was on the short list of potential running mates for Al Gore, but was passed over in favor of Joe Lieberman.

She initially supported the war in Iraq, then became a critic while serving as national chair of John Kerry's presidential campaign.
She flip-flopped on same-sex marriage, having opposed it as governor and supported it as Senator.
Radio station WMUR reported that she had never released her tax returns during nearly two decades of holding public office (2014).

She is a 12th-generation descendant of Pocahontas.
She taught school in Mississippi and New Hampshire before going into politics.
She was the first woman to be elected as both governor and senator.
She the target of dirty tricks in her loss to John E. Sununu for Senate (2002): Republican operatives later admitted to jamming the phone lines for Democratic 'get out the vote' operations.
