The Resume

    (June 11, 1977-March 10, 2022)
Born in Las Matas de Farfán, Dominican Republic
Pitcher for the Atlanta Braves (1998–2001), Los Angeles Dodgers (2002-06), Kansas City Royals (2006-07), and the Washington Nationals (2008)

Why he might be annoying:

He led the majors in no decisions (2004).
He was considered both lazy and surly by his former teammates and executives alike.
This was a contributing factor in the Dodgers decision to hastily trade him for a meager return.
He holds the distinction of being the first pitcher in major league history to record a playoff win before a regular season win.
He initially agreed to a minor league deal with the Nationals, only to relent and retire altogether (2009).
He fell off a ladder while he was home alone, which contributed to his death.

Why he might not be annoying:

He recorded 27 wins in a two year period, which were the third most recorded by a left-handed pitcher (2002-03).
He was the first Dodgers lefty since Fernando Valenzuela to record 10+ wins in consecutive seasons.
He pitched eight shutout innings, along with hitting a solo home run, which was the only offensive output in the Dodgers 1-0 win over the Diamondbacks, in what later became the start of Eric Gagne's save streak (August 28, 2002).
He recorded both the first pitch and the first strikeout in the history of Nationals Park.
He was considered one of the top left-handed pitchers in the majors in the early 2000's.
