Why he might be annoying:

    His NHL career was considered a disappointment, given his draft billing.
    He was remembered for a controversial decision he made, rather than his accolades.
    He sued the NHL, NHLPA along with the Red Wings for attempting to send him to Los Angeles as compensation for Rogie Vachon signing with Detroit.
    He publicly complained that NHLPA director Alan Eagleson never had his back during the proceedings.
    He was mistaken for his brother Dan, who was an on-ice official with the NHL.

    He was the second player in the history of the Red Wings to be selected first overall.
    He set an IIHF World Juniors recorded when he recorded 18 points in a single tournament (1977).
    He finished second to Mike Bossy in Calder Trophy voting (1978).
    His lawsuit against both the NHL and NHLPA was considered one of the first cases to challenge antitrust laws in a collective bargaining agreement.
    He established himself as a star in the Swiss leagues, upon his departure from the NHL.
