Ian Tyson (September 25, 1933- ), born in Victoria, British Columbia
Sylvia Tyson (nee Fricker; September 19, 1940- ), born in Chatham, Ontario
Recorded the albums 'Ian & Sylvia' (1962), 'Four Strong Winds' (1964), 'Northern Journey' (1964), 'Early Morning Rain' (1965), 'Play One More' (1966), 'Lovin' Sound' (1967), 'Nashville' (1967), 'Full Circle' (1968), 'Great Speckled Bird' (1970), 'Ian and Sylvia' (1971), and 'You Were on My Mind' (1972)
They released two eponymous albums (albeit, one using an ampersand and one the word 'and').
Even though they were both songwriters, their biggest hit was a cover of Gordon Lightfoot's 'Early Morning Rain.'
Ian's signature song, 'Four Strong Winds' was written for his 'soulmate' -- not Sylvia, but Evinia Pulos (described by Sylvia as 'the third person in our marriage').
The end of their marriage was also their end as a musical duo.
    Sylvia is left-handed.
'Great Speckled Bird' was the first album produced by Todd Rundgren.
They were made members of the Order of Canada (1994) and were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame (1992) and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame (2019).
In a CBC Radio listeners' poll, Ian's 'Four Strong Winds' was named the greatest Canadian song of all time (2005).
