    He struggled with control issues, while he was playing at Mississippi State.
    He was initially drafted by the Texas Rangers in 2011, but didn't sign with the team.
    His major league debut was delayed, after he injured himself in pre-game warmups (2017).

    While in the minors, he pitched six shutout innings in his first game back following his brother's death in an ATV accident (2016).
    He hit a home run off Clayton Kershaw during the 2018 NLCS, becoming the third reliever in major league history to accomplish the feat.
    He became a solid middle reliever and later setup man for Josh Hader during his first few seasons with the Brewers.
    He transitioned from a reliever to a starting role in his third season.
    He became a fan favorite in Milwaukee, as a result of his scrappy style of play.
