The Resume

    (1965-1972)
    Born in San Antonio, Texas
    1969 Line-Up:
    Doug Sahm, vocals and guitar
    Augie Meyers, keyboards
    Harvey Kagan, bass guitar

Recorded the singles 'She's About A Mover' (1965), 'The Rains Came' (1966) and 'Mendocino' (1969)

Why they might be annoying:

They were presented as a British invasion band despite being Texans.
They were photographed in silhouette for their first album to hide the fact that several of the band members were Hispanic.
Returning from a tour of Europe, they were busted at the Corpus Christi airport for marijuana possession (1965).
After his release, Doug Sahm broke up the band, moved to San Francisco, then re-formed the band with a new line-up.

Why they might not be annoying:

They combined Tex-Mex music with garage rock.
Although their song 'Mendocino' only reached #27 on the US charts, it sold over 3 million singles in Europe.
Doug Sahm and Augie Meyers continued working together after the band's break-up, most notably as members of the Texas Tornados.
'She's About A Mover' was named the #1 Texas song by 'Texas Monthly.' (2004)
