He reportedly used the Atkins diet to lose that weight.
He appeared on the 'Oprah Winfrey Show.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He was Jeopardy!'s first millionaire.
With the UTOC win, he won more money than any other Jeopardy! contestant.
He never lost a Jeopardy! game.
Unlike Ken Jennings, he was a subject of the rule that five-time champions must retire.
He was the second person to defeat Ken Jennings (who placed second after Rutter in the UTOC), and did so handedly.
He admitted that it takes a lot of luck to go far on Jeopardy!.
