Why he might be annoying:

He recalled about playing in clubs at age fourteen, 'We had to hide in the kitchen of the places we used to perform at to run away from the agents of the juvenile court.'
He got his first big break -- three of his songs being showcased at the First International Pop Song Festival (1967) in Rio -- when a friend entered his songs into the competition without telling him.
As he aged, he developed an unnerving resemblance to Whoopi Goldberg.

Why he might not be annoying:

When he was eighteen months old, his mother, a maid, died, and he was adopted by her white employers.
His song 'Coração de Estudante' became an anthem of the pro-democracy movement, and was played at the funerals of Brazilian President Tancredo Neves and racing legend Aryton Senna.
He performed benefit concerts for the indigenous Guarani people and their attempt to maintain a homeland in Mato Gross do Sul.
Elis Regina said, 'If God sang, He would do it with Milton's voice.'
