Why he might be annoying:

Nepotism is what got him his start and big break in wrestling, as his father, Fritz, was the owner and booker of WCCW (World Class Championship Wrestling) and made his sons the biggest stars of the company.
His NWA Heavyweight Title reign lasted only 18 days.
Once he lost the WWE Intercontinental Title, he lost steam and moved down the card.
He started doing steroids when he was in tenth grade and later became heavily into drugs.
At public appearances, he would show up incoherent or not show up at all.
He was arrested for drug possession while coming back from Mexico, but the evidence just disappeared from the police station and the charges were dropped.
WCW signed him but he no-showed at his first scheduled appearance and WCW gave up on him.
He committed suicide in 1993 after being indicted on drug charges.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was voted the Most Popular Wrestler of the Year by PWI in 1984.
His win over Ric Flair for the NWA Heavyweight Title was named Match of the Year by PWI in 1984.
His NWA Heavyweight Title win over Ric Flair remains a classic and after winning the title he received one of the most emotional ovations in wrestling history.
He won the NWA Heavyweight Title in the main event of a show paying tribute to his late brother.
He was a big draw in WCCW, as shows that had him headlining sold out easily.
He was able to wrestle for over an hour on a regular basis.
He lost his foot in a motorcycle accident.
After the accident, he wrestled the rest of his career with one foot and still put on great performances.
