The Resume

    (March 26, 1989-May 5, 1993)
    Aired on NBC
Scott Bakula as Dr. Sam Beckett
    Dean Stockwell as Al Calavicci
    Created by Donald Bellisario
Premise: Adventures of a scientist who ended up in bodies of different people in different time periods every week hoping to find the last leap home

Why Quantum Leap might be annoying:

In one episode, Sam 'leaped' into the body of Lee Harvey Oswald.
In a DVD season release, it replaced its score of licensed songs with generic music.
It never explained the 'unknown power' that caused the leaping.
Their ratings struggled through the seasons.
The series ended with a season-ending cliffhanging episode.

Why Quantum Leap might not be annoying:

Scott Bakula wrote and sung the original songs done for the show.
It correctly predicted that the Pittsburgh Steelers would make the Super Bowl in 1996.
Scott Bakula’s character, Sam Beckett ranked number 12 in TV Guide’s list of the ‘25 Greatest Sci-Fi Legends’ (2004).
It was ranked number 15 in the list of ‘25 Top Cult Shows Ever’ by TV Guide (2004).
