Why he might be annoying:

He was heavily into drugs.
He acted in the made-for-TV 'Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park (1978).'
When he quit (1980) he was replaced by Eric Carr who died of cancer (1991), but was not asked to rejoin until 1996.
