He goes by his middle name, rather than his birth name of Jeffrey.
He looks younger than he actually is.
He was released by the Astros, who elected to sign Miguel Tejada as a free agent.
He was remembered by casual fans for being traded to the Astros for Carl Everett.
He missed the majority of the 2007 season, after he fractured his fibula after he attempted to catch a fly ball.

He was a member of the United States baseball team that won a gold medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics.
He was the inaugural winner of the Fielding Bible Award for the shortstop position (2006).
He left the Astros as the franchise leader in career home runs by a shortstop.
