Why she might be annoying:

She said she had visions and could read minds.
She claimed to have special instructions from God.
People called her a saint (and still do), even though the church never formally canonized her.
Many New Age nut cases are inspired by her ideas.

Why she might not be annoying:

As a child she was usually ill.
Her parents sent her to a nunnery because they couldn’t afford to feed her.
She got bad headaches.
She was knowledgeable about the medicine and science of her time.
She was a respected and charismatic figure.
Unlike most medieval women, she was able to become a powerful political and intellectual leader.
Modern neurologists think she probably had a mental illness.
She is considered the first documented composer in history (and one of the only female ones).
