Played for the St. Louis/Atlanta Hawks (1964-69), Phoenix Suns (1969-72), Boston Celtics (1972-76), Denver Nuggets (1976-77), and Seattle SuperSonics (1977-1980)
Head coach for San Diego Clippers (1980-83), Charlotte/New Orleans Hornets (1999-2003), Cleveland Cavaliers (2003-05) and the Charlotte Bobcats (2010-12)

Why he might be annoying:

His Cavalier teams frequently went on losing streaks in the final weeks of the season which twice cost them playoff positioning.
He made a derogatory statement towards Jazz forward Carlos Boozer who left the Cavaliers the previous season.
He has an extremely raspy voice.
He got fired after the Hornets were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, despite the fact he had a winning record every season as their head coach (2003).
He waited 15 years before he accepted another head coaching job.
He had a record of 78-168 in three seasons as Clippers head coach.
He guided the Charlotte Bobcats to the worst record in franchise history and the second worst in NBA history with a 7-59 record in a 66 game season (2011-12).

Why he might not be annoying:

He coached LeBron James as a rookie.
He is considered a players' coach.
After he took over the reins as Hornets coach, the team rebounded from a 4-11 start by going 22-13 and finishing 9th in the Eastern Conference.
He is credited for holding the team together after Bobby Phills passed away.
He left the Hornets as the winningest coach in franchise history.
