U.S. Congressman

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

During the coronavirus epidemic, he refused to wear a mask on the floor of the House, saying he did not need one because he could maintain a distance of six feet from everyone (May 28, 2020).
Two weeks later, he revealed that he, his wife, and his son had tested positive for COVID-19.
He frequently referred to COVID-19 as ‘Wuhan flu.’
He objected to certifying Joe Biden’s victory in the Electoral College, then said, ‘This whole idea that we could overturn the election was a lie from the beginning.’
Only two days before voting to impeach Trump, he publicly opposed the process, saying, ‘He only has nine days left in his term. Let’s not stoke further division.’

Why he might not be annoying:

He said the worst symptom of COVID-19 was temporarily losing his senses of taste and smell: ‘CAN’T TASTE BACON.’
He introduced a bill to provide businesses with a tax credit to cover 50% of the costs of safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
He said his change of mind on impeachment was based on the President’s lack of contrition after the assault on the Capitol: ‘The President has not addressed the nation to ask for calm. He has not visited the injured and grieving. He has not offered condolences…. This utter failure is inexcusable.’
One of his political consultants, Walter Whetsell, said about him, ‘He truly believes you do the right thing and everything else will work out.’
