Premise: A former college basketball coach takes a coaching job at an all-girl prep school in an attempt to revive his coaching career

Why Big Shot might be annoying:

John Stamos was cast in the lead role of basketball coach Marvyn Korn, despite the fact he never had an interest in sports.
Shiri Appleby was initially cast as Holly Barrett, before being replaced by Jessalyn Gilsig, in order to make her a contemporary to Marvyn.
Marvyn was seen as being smug, concieted and arrogant in the earlier episodes.
Marvyn's chair throwing incident is loosely based on that of Bobby Knight's.
For a prep school, there is favoritism shown towards the daughters of the school's faculty members.
It plays off the typical high school girl chlichés.
It was initially supposed to be part of ABC's 2020 fall lineup, but the network wasn't interested in picking it up.

Why Big Shot might not be annoying:

It was an original show, that wasn't a spinoff off a Disney franchise.
It tackles themes such as family, teamwork, identity, social status and classes, academics and self-discovery.
They don't use doubles to film the basketball scenes.
Despite not having an interest in sports, John Stamos played the role of Marvyn Korn admirably.
It was initially planned to be released in 2020, but was delayed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It received popular reviews from critics upon its release on Disney Plus.
