    Recorded 'The Christmas Song,' 'Unforgettable,' 'Route 66' (Nat grew up in Chicago and later moved to Los Angeles which are the two ends of Route 66), 'Winter is Coming,' 'L.O.V.E.,' 'Straighten Up and Fly Right,' 'Mona Lisa,' 'When I Fall in Love,' 'Too Young,' 'Sweet Lorraine,' 'Nature Boy,' 'Love Letters,' 'For All We Know,' 'The Very Thought of You,' 'Ramblin' Rose' and 'Those Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days of Summer'

Why he might be annoying:

    He used five different birth years on documents (Most folks believe the true year is 1919).
    He married his first wife at seventeen and his second wife at twenty-nine (if you believe the 1919 date).
    He appeared in his own biography 'The Nat King Cole Story.'
    He smoked three pack a day and died of lung cancer at forty-five (if you believe the 1919 date).
    Twenty-six years after his death he recorded 'Unforgettable' with his daughter Natalie Cole, using electronic technology (1991).

Why he might not be annoying:

    He sold over 50 million records for Capitol Records, the company became known as 'The House that Nat Built.'
    By twelve, he was an accomplished pianist (his mother taught him to play).
    He usually was not allowed to stay at the places they played, due to his race.
    Men tried to kidnap him at an Alabama concert, upset that an African American was allowed perform.
    He is the first African American to have a radio show (1946) and T.V show (1956).
    He became so famous that he was invited to places by President Kennedy. In fact, President Kennedy went to Natalie Cole's debutante ball.
    He adopted Carol, his wife's niece, after her parents died. (October 17, 1944).
    He was one of the first successful African-American recording artists.
