Why she might be annoying:

    When she went to college, she initially wanted to study language and art exclusively; she noted about the requirement that she take science classes, 'I thought it was a terrible idea, but I lost all the arguments.'
    She described her class of 35 astronauts -- which included five other women, three black men, and one Asian-American man -- as 'ten interesting people and 25 standard white guys.'
    She was to have been the first woman to walk in space, but NASA announced the plan far enough for the Soviets to send Svetlana Savitskaya on a spacewalk ahead of Sullivan.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She learned to fly planes in her teens.
    She still ended up the first American woman to walk in space (October 11, 1984).
    She was the first woman to dive to the bottom of the Challenger Deep in the Marianas Trench, the deepest point in the oceans (June 7, 2020).
    She is the first person, regardless of gender, to have been to both outer space and the Challenger Deep.
    She was named one of '15 women changing the world' by the World Economic Forum (2015).
