The Resume

    (2333 BC- )
    Capital of North Korea
Briefly the capital of united Korea (1948)
Completely rebuilt after the Korean War by the Soviet Union
Tallest building is the Ryugyong Hotel at 1,080 feet
    Population almost 3 million

Why Pyongyang, North Korea might be annoying:

Its origins are surrounded in myth.
It was completely destroyed after the Korean War and was rebuilt with Stalin-style architecture.
The Ryugyong Hotel, one of the largest hotels in the world, is incomplete, uninhabited and completely impractical, considering the government does not allow tourists.
It was built as a Cold War response to the Stamford Hotel in Singapore, built by a South Korean company.
Many Westerners who have visited the city have commented on it being 'cold and bleak.'
It has a larger version of France's Arc de Triomphe for no apparent reason.
Though there are streets everywhere, citizens are not allowed to have vehicles.
Party bureaucrats drive around the city in Mercedes-Benz limousines.
Its full of the pictures of ugly Kim Jong-il and Kim Il-sung.
It exists as Kim Jong-ils play toy, and to impress visitors, who are never given a tour anywhere else in North Korea.
Its full of impressing buildings that have no practical purpose.
It has two of the world's largest stadiums (Kim Jong-il Stadium and May Day Stadium) but no real sporting events to make them practical.
May Day Stadium exists primarily to celebrate Kim-il Sung, be bigger than Seoul's Olympic Stadium and as an arena to stage mass executions.

Why Pyongyang, North Korea might not be annoying:

Its name means 'capital of willows' and is named for its numerous willow trees.
May Day Stadium is the largest stadium in Asia and the second largest stadium in the world, with seating for 150,000 people.
It is clean and very crime-free (mostly because its over-built and empty).
It contains the only non-starving people in North Korea.
