Why he might be annoying:

He is 7'7, and weighs only about 200 pounds.
He was often used as a publicity stunt.
Despite being one of the NBA's most imposing shot blockers, he did not make an impact in other defensive aspects.
The first time he dunked a basketball, he chipped his tooth on the rim.
His career scoring average was only 2.6 points per game.
He was often made fun of by comedians.
In his later years in the NBA, he frequently attempted three-pointers (and missed most of them).
His only real asset was shot blocking.
He was drafted twice, in 1983, and again in 1985.
He boxed against the 370-lb William 'The Refrigerator' Perry in 'Celebrity Boxing.'
He signed with the Indianapolis Ice of the Central Hockey League, but didn't play (2002).
He was arrested for hitting his daughter (2004).
His name sounds like a microwave rice dish.

He set a rookie record with 397 blocked shots (1985).
Don Nelson called him the greatest shot blocker he ever saw.
When he was with Washington, he played with the shortest player in NBA history, 5'3 Muggsy Bogues. They were good friends and shared initials.
He is frequently active in charitable causes.
He tried to help stop a civil war in his homeland of Sudan.
He was severely injured when his taxi ride flipped over and crashed (2004).
A former teammate and friend on the Warriors, Chris Mullin, started a basketball camp to raise money for him after the crash.
He ran a basketball school in Egypt.
