Basketball Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

His first name was often misspelled Byron by journalists.
He was overshadowed by the likes of Karl Malone, John Stockton and Jeff Hornacek in Utah.
He is remembered as being the player trying to guard Michael Jordan as he made the series-winning shot in the 1998 NBA Finals.
He played on three different teams in three consecutive seasons after leaving the Jazz.
He was traded to the Seattle Supersonics, but never played a game for the team.
He spent the last few seasons of his career playing in the independent leagues.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a durable player, as he played in every game for three consecutive seasons (1997-2000).
Despite not being well-known like Stockton and Malone, he was viewed as being a valuable asset on the Jazz roster during their prime years.
While some Jazz fans felt Jordan pushed him off and got away without being fouled on the series-winning shot, he said the latter would have made it regardless of the call.
He became teammates with Jordan when he signed with the Wizards four years after the famed play.
He had his jersey number retired by his alma mater, Long Beach State (2010).
