TV Reality Show Contestant

The Resume

    (March 28, 1988- )
    Born in United States
    Former software salesman
Hometown is Warsaw, Indiana; Resides in Denver, Colorado
    Suitor on ABC's The Bachelor 20 (2016)
Chose 25 year-old flight attendant Lauren Bushnell in the Final Rose Ceremony
Previously had appeared as a contestant on Season 11 of ABC's 'The Bachelorette' (2015)
Eliminated in Week 8 by Kaitlyn Bristowe (Jul. 17 2015)
Confirmed, along with Bushnell, as the star of the 'Bachelor' spin-off show, 'Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After' (June, 2016)

Why he might be annoying:

He is the textbook example of a pretty boy.
He has been called one of the most emotionally insecure 'Bachelors' in the franchise's history.
He said in an interview he can't stand to have his face touched.
He claimed he would end his 'Bachelor' stint with a proposal to the winner, but signed on for a spin-off show anyway.
Of all the contestants, he most openly jockeyed for the 'Bachelor' position, kissing Kaitlyn's ass every chance he got.
He claimed to Kaitlyn that his biggest problem was not being able to 'open up' due to the hurt of past relationships (and she bought it, hook, line and sinker).
He did a bizarre McDonalds ad which doubled as a Bachelor Nation alum promotion (Breakfast or Lunch? Lunch or Breakfast? Choose!)
He struck some female viewers as effeminate and even a little girly (especially compared to his hulky predecessor, Iowa farmer Chris Soules).
He released several contestants before the rose ceremony; one for merely saying 'I love you.'
In a case of unlucky timing, he released the season's only black contestant (a US army veteran who was orphaned as a child in Haiti) in an episode which aired on the first day of Black History Month.

Why he might not be annoying:

He played basketball, football, and golf, as a kid.
He backpacked through Peru and did charity work there, shortly after graduating college.
He sponsors children through the charity Humanity and Hope United.
He has the Bible verse 'Commit to the Lord' (Proverbs 16:3) tattooed onto his side.
He was hit by a car while walking down a sidewalk (and still has difficulty walking with his back facing traffic, as a result).
He's good friends with Kaitlyn Bristowe's fiancée and the season winner, Shawn Booth.
He was also one of the few contestants who even tried to get along with Booth's sworn enemy, Nick Viall.
He was the only 'Bachelorette' contestant who seemed remotely comfortable giving the 'sex education talk' to a class of elementary school kids and impressed Kaitlyn with his speech about falling in love with someone you meet out of a limo.
