Once when appearing on 'The Ed Sullivan Show,' he refused to get off stage and was accused of giving Sullivan the finger. He was then banned from the show for over a year.
He was nominated for a Razzie Award as 'Worst Actor of the Year' for 'Caddyshack II' (1989).

He is the fourth person to receive an honorary degree from the Oxford University Debating Society, the others being Mahatma Gandhi, John F. Kennedy, and Jimmy Carter.
He was awarded for 'Bravery, Commitment and Valor to the State of Israel,' which is the highest honor given by the Israeli government.
He won an Emmy for his voice-over work on 'The Simpsons.'
