    They all have tattoos.
    They originally called themselves Charlemagne, before being forced to change it after another group of the same name threatened a lawsuit.
    Original member Dan Griffin left the band before it became a mainstream act.
    A significant portion of their songs are politically motivated.
    Their music is primarily featured on the EA Sports NHL video game franchise.

Why Arkells might not be annoying:

    They have a diverse sound.
    They took their name from Hamilton's Arkell Street, in which the band's members all resided on when they attended McMaster University.
    They started a tradition of mailing their fans postcards at Christmas, along with allowing them to download their music free of charge.
    They performed the halftime show at the 2021 Grey Cup, which was held in their hometown of Hamilton.
