Why she might be annoying:

When she was seven, her father went insane from syphilis and died.
Growing up, Søren Kierkegaard was her favorite author.
She had an affair with Martin Heidegger while he was her teacher.
She was in favor of the death penalty.
She angered many Jews worldwide because she said that Adolf Eichmann suffered from a 'banal evil' where he simply did not think out his actions, as opposed to Adolf Hitler's 'radical evil' which was fully thought out.
She was a smoker.

Why she might not be annoying:

After the Nazis gained control of Germany in 1933, she joined the German Zionist Organization to try and inform the world of the anti-Jewish policies of the Nazis.
After being thrown out of the country, she joined the Youth Aliyah in France and worked to save the lives of Jewish children by bringing them to Palestine.
After France fell to the Nazis, both she and her husband were placed in separate holdings for displaced Germans, and both escaped and made their way to the US.
She was the first woman to be a tenured professor of political science at Princeton.
Although she considered herself to culturally be Jewish, she did not practice any religion.
