The Resume

    (June 23, 1963-March 14, 2014)
    Born in Orange, New Jersey
    Resided in Las Vegas
Developed elephantiasis of the scrotum, which grew to weigh an estimated 130-160 pounds
Appeared on Howard Stern's radio and TV show to appeal for funds for surgery (2011)
Surgery to remove the scrotum and then cover the exposed testicles and penis with skin grafts performed at University of California, Irvine, by Dr. Joel Gelman and three other surgeons, who donated their services (April 8, 2013)
Subject of the British TV documentary 'The Man with the 10-Stone Testicles'
Died at age 50 of diabetes complications

Why he might be annoying:

In order to cover his scrotum when he went out, he wore an upside down hoodie, with his legs in the sleeves (and his sack in the hood).
He would bring along a milk crate and a cushion to rest his scrotum on.
Because his penis was encased in his scrotum, he was unable to have sex and when he urinated, he frequently sprayed all over the toilet.
He could not sit on the toilet during a bowel movement, and had to catch it in a bucket.
His email address for donations was [email protected].
He turned down an offer of free surgery from Dr. Oz, reportedly because Oz wanted to control who he could be interviewed by (2012).
Even before the elephantiasis set in, he weighed over 300 pounds and suffered high blood pressure and asthma, all of which complicated the corrective surgery.
He complained that after the surgery his penis was only an inch long: 'I know the majority of people are probably expecting me to express extreme happiness and glee that my life has been transformed since the sac has been removed – but it’s not as simple as that.'

Why he might not be annoying:

Although scrotal elephantiasis is most commonly caused by parasitic worms, his case was triggered by trauma, possibly when he accidentally struck his testicles while sleeping. (So don't laugh, guys -- it could happen to you!)
His swelling scrotum initially baffled doctors, who prescribed antibiotics without effect.
His scrotal condition caused frequent pain and forced him to walk with baby steps.
Although he was often depressed by his condition, he said 'I'm not suicidal. I'm too strong for that.'
He said about [email protected], 'It may not sound like the classiest of email addresses, but it's one people can remember.'
He said about publicizing his condition, 'I don't like being a freak, who would? But I figured that the Stern show is listened to by millions of people and they might want to help me.'
Dr. Gelman went ahead with the surgery even though Nevada Medicaid was dragging its feet on compensating the hospital for its costs, saying it was unfair to keep Warren waiting.
In the months before his death, he was optimistic about his long-term prospects, saying 'I can see a light at the end of the tunnel, but I'm still in the tunnel.'
