Oddity

The Resume

    Resides in southwest Miami-Dade county
Principal at Archbishop Coleman F. Carroll High School
Became an Internet meme after being filmed by an off-duty police officer cutting down a fallen tree during the aftermath of Hurricane Irma (Sept. 2017)
Original 'Chainsaw-Wielding Nun' Facebook video received over 7.5 million views, 4.1 thousand shares, and 4.6 thousand likes
Viral story received coverage from People.com, NPR, Inside Edition, BBC, Good Morning America and Yahoo
Was interviewed on CBS News, CNN, Fox News and the Christian Broadcasting Channel (CBC)

Why she might be annoying:

Chainsaw-wielding nuns? That sounds like an idea for a MADtv skit!
Or perhaps your worst nightmare if you were a parochial school student. (As if those steel rulers weren't bad enough.))
Some commenters on the original video questioned the wisdom of operating heavy machinery while dressed in a full habit.
She admitted she had to Google 'how to use a chainsaw' before beginning to work.
Left out of the video was that moments later several passers-by stopped to lend a hand when they noticed she was having difficulty cutting through the downed tree.
There is already a beer named for her, or rather her 'Nun with a Chainsaw' moniker - a mixture of Amarillo, Azacca, and Idaho 7 (the one big problem being obvious - the Sister doesn't drink!)

Why she might not be annoying:

She was raised by her father and grew up in Texas.
At the time of the viral video, she had been a nun for nearly thirty years.
She was initially unaware that she was even being filmed using the chainsaw.
She was referenced at the 2017 Emmy Awards.
She is a huge sports fan, especially of the Florida Panthers (who gifted her with an autographed toy chainsaw when she was their honored guest at a game).
She resolved to try and clear the roads herself after seeing a car spin in the mud and nearly go off the road (even though she was told to wait for the police).
She agreed to reprise her chainsaw performance on the condition that attendees 'show up and bring a pair of gloves' to help clear the remaining debris.
The viral story was one of the few positive takeaways from a news cycle dominated by natural disasters, including one that had devastated Florida (the message being if a Nun in a habit can help clear the damage, anyone can).
She was humble in the face of her newfound viral celebrity, telling Fox News: 'The focus isn't really on me, its on our lord and the good that he can bring out of a tragedy, especially when we put other people first and do what we can to help out.'
