(1961), ‘Flaming Drums' (1962), ‘More Drums of Passion' (1966), ‘Soul Makossa' (1973), ‘Drums of Passion: The Invocation' (1988), ‘Drums of Passion: The Beat' (1989), ‘Drums of Passion: Celebrate Freedom, Justice & Peace,' (1993) and ‘Love Drum Talk' (1997)

Why he might be annoying:

    He recycled the hell out of that ‘Drums of Passion' title.
    He prefaced most of his concerts with a political speech.
    He said his music had ‘medicinal powers.'

    He was one of the first successful ‘world music' artists.
    He won a Grammy for collaborating with Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead on ‘Planet Drum.'
    He first met Hart three decades earlier when Hart was a student in his music class.
