    It is located 35 miles east of Mesa Verde National Park.
    It is surrounded by the Animas River Valley and the San Juan Mountains.
    It has a historic narrow gauge railroad which goes to the town of Silverton.
    It is a popular destination in the state for outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing and cycling.
    Actor Tom Tully was born here.
    The Million Dollar Highway (Highway 550) goes through this city.
    Its Iron Horse Bicycle Classic race brings cyclists from around the world since 1972.
    It has a large amount of restaurants per capita compared to San Francisco, California.
