Hockey Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

His last name is a translation of the word save in French.
He spent the majority of his career on mediocre teams.
He broke his finger prior to the start of the Sabres 1979 training camp, which in turn cost him a chance at making the team's opening night roster.
He was traded to the Red Wings on the condition that the team paid his salary in full until he reached unrestricted free agency (1981).
His career ended prematurely as a result of chronic back injuries.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a fan of Jacques Plante growing up, and was inspired to take up goaltending cause of him.
He reached the NHL for good, after he was called up as an injury replacement for Don Edwards, and would form a Vezina-winning tandem with the latter following his return from injury (1979-80).
He was considered a valuable mentor to Tom Barrasso, when the latter joined the NHL out of the high school ranks.
He became a player agent after his playing career ended.
His son Phillippe followed in his footsteps and played in the NHL during the 2000's.
