Why Summerside, PEI might be annoying:

    It is overshadowed by Charlottetown.
Its incorporation as a city was a result of an amalgamation between them and the neighboring communities of St. Eleanor's, Wilmot and Sherbrooke.
Its military base, C.F.B. Summerside, was closed in 1991 as a result of federal budget cuts.
It has cold harsh winters with snowfalls that exceed those further inland.
Despite its status as a city, it lacks media outlets, except for a sole radio station. The majority of the city's media coverage is based out of Charlottetown as a result.
It had a predominantly industrial economy, until it collapsed in the 1990's.
It was a rumored relocationsite for a Quebec Major Junior Hockey franchise, but local residents were not interested in having a team of their own.

Why Summerside, PEI might not be annoying:

It took its name from the historic Summer Side Inn.
It serves as the hub centre for residents on the western part of Prince Edward Island.
It diversified its economy in the years following the loss of CFB Summerside, by venturing into the technology, agriculture and business sectors.
It was once home to the world's largest concentration of domesticated silver fox farms.
It is unofficially considered the 'Hockey Hub of P.E.I.,' as some of the province's notable hockey figures, such as Gerard Gallant and Doug MacLean hail from here.
It successfully converted the former CFB Summerside base into the city's municipal airport and business park.
It is home to the Summerside Raceway, which is the oldest operating horse track in Canada.
