U.S. Congressman

The Resume

    (August 17, 1963-August 3, 2022)
    Born in South Bend, Indiana
    Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Indiana's 2nd district (January 3, 2013 – August 3, 2022)
Member of the Indiana House of Representatives from the 21st district (January 5, 2005 – November 16, 2010)
    Republican

Why she might be annoying:

    She resembled Dorothy Michaels.
She won her Congressional seat in 2012 after state redistricting added heavily Republican-leaning counties into the district.
She was one of 147 Republicans who voted to not certify the Electoral College results awarding the presidency to President Joseph Biden hours after the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot.

Why she might not be annoying:

She spent the first four years of her career out of college as a local TV reporter.
She founded and operated a Christian ministry working with impoverished children in Romania for four years with her husband.
She narrowly lost the first time she ran for the US House and came back two years later to win.
Although generally supportive of Trump she called his comments about women heard in the Access Hollywood tape 'vile' and 'demeaning.'
She was killed along with three staffers in a head-on collision when her driver made a wrong turn coming back from a ribbon cutting ceremony (August 3, 2022).
When the news of the accident broke, heartfelt tributes poured in that were truly bipartisan (not only from Indiana natives Mike Pence and Pete Buttigieg but Presidents Trump and Biden).
At the time of her death, she was a ranking member of the House Ethics Committee and had won the Republican primary enabling her to seek reelection.
