It jumped on the 'Desperate Housewives'/'Gossip Girl' primetime soap opera bandwagon.
Many cast members from the original series were reluctant to appear in the new series.
Some criticized that the young ladies were extremely thin.
When the series returned after a hiatus in March 2010, the show's ratings dramatically dropped.

Many 'Beverly Hills, 90210' alum, such as Shannen Doherty and Tori Spelling, made appearances.
The series premiere gave the CW Network its highest ratings in the 18-49 demo to date.
The cast is more ethnically diverse compared to its predecessor.
The show received critically favorable reviews in its second season.
The show premiered on September 2 (09/02).
