Why they might be annoying:

They share the same name as a play or something Red Sox fans utter.
They were a hard rock band that relied too much on power ballads.
Ted Nugent infamously shot a flaming arrow at a picture of Saddam Hussein, leading to his arrest.
They tried to reunite in 1998 with the album 'Bravo,' but neither the record company or the band liked the sound.

Why they might not be annoying:

Their name did not come from the play, but what Nugent said was the sound of him and Shaw playing together.
Their members were from all corners of the nation (Nugent from the north, Shaw from the south, Blades from the west and Cartellone from the east).
Music from 'Don't Tread on Me' was used in coverage of the 1992 Olympic games.
Nugent was not afraid to get political during his time with the group.
The band made many political statements during the Persian Gulf War.
